enjoy :)
O.K.
To clear the air a bit...
The Driver in the LA400 is the same driver that is in all of our horn
loaded subs (KF940, DCS2, BH760 etc...).
This is a VERY special driver that has been designed specifically to
work in a horn loaded application. If you replace it with ANY other
driver besides the original one specified, you are on your own.
You will get results, but I can not say what those results will sound like!!

Hello,
I wanted to post this reply to everyone to clear up the confusion
about the LA400 power ratings.
First, I will begin by saying that the LA400, DCS2, KF940, BH822,
BH760, all use the same driver, and that driver has never changed.
From the work that we have done in our labs, we have found that it is
possible, under certain conditions, to raise the RMS power handling of
this 12\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" driver.
If you use an LA400 as a traditional subwoofer (just a low-pass and no
high-pass) the single 12\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" driver has an RMS of around 500 watts @ 8
ohms.
If you use the standard low-pass and add a high-pass at 30Hz,
12dB/octave, you can increase the RMS rating to around 800 watts.
